Groups Administration

GroupCamp groups administration lets you precisely define a user’s privileges in groups, as well as isolate privileges by group in the following ways:

  • For each type of group (Intranet, Extranet, Project, Scheduling, Timesheet), determine which ones have the privilege to create, update and delete
  • Determine which groups have access to admin functions

This article is intended for colleagues with Administrators role or Groups admin access.

Activation of groups and creation privileges

Groupes Click on the Groups icon located in the Admin panel.

You can define which group types you want to use in your account.

To set up other features and applications for each group type, click on the appropriate folder or app in the Groups section of the Admin panel.

Note: The Timesheet app cannot be disabled.

Define privileges for groups administration functions

To define access privileges to group admin functions, go to the Admin Panel.

By default, this privilege is reserved for GroupCamp account adminstrators. You can grant administration functions to a management team.

Select a Team in Who can use this feature?

Select one of your management teams. You can check or uncheck the Administrators box.

In the example above, the management team members and the account administrators have access to administration functions of the "Groups" application.

Important: Colleagues with administration functions can affect all groups in the account, even the ones they are not members of. This should be taken into consideration when granting access.

To access Groups administration functions, click on the Directory menu, then click on the Groups app.

Create a new group

To create a new group, use the '+' button in the top navigation bar or use the Create button in the Groups application located in the Directory menu.

Use the Groups app. Space storage used by each group.

The Groups application is displayed for all colleagues in the account.

Note : Guest users do not have access to the Directory menu and its related applications.

Authorized colleagues can manage all groups in the account.

The storage space used by each group is displayed.

Use the Search and Filter buttons to access the groups you are looking for.

Trash menu

When a user deletes a group, the deleted group will be moved to Trash. All data related to the group will be stored, however group members will no longer have access to the data.

For groups moved to Trash, possible actions are:

  • Export group data
  • Restore group - In this case, group members will re-gain access to the group.
  • Permanently delete the group - In this case, all data related to the group will be permanently deleted NO POSSIBILITY TO REVERT BACK

This menu lists all groups export requests, possible actions are:

  • Download the export file.
  • Delete export.

Example of filters usage: Search exports of permanently deleted groups.

Actions for a group: members list, manage members, edit group settings etc...

Use the More button to display the contextual menu.

Actions on active project groups

Click on a group name to open its Information panel.

In the Information panel, the possible actions are:

  • Display group details
  • List group members, Feed followers, Current Export and Journal
  • Manage group members
  • Update group settings
  • Archive, export or delete the group
